Summary
Bifidobacterium infantis 35624: taken as the Align probiotic brand, starting at one capsule daily for two weeks and then increasing to two capsules daily. She has ME/CFS with symptoms including joint pain, tinnitus and brain fog. The first two weeks produced no noticeable improvement in constipation or other symptoms, and raising the dose to two capsules triggered a severe reaction resembling her original illness onset, with sore glands, joint pain, worsened tinnitus and brain fog, facial pain, muscle aches, chills, nausea and headache. It took her several rough days to recover from that flare, after which she discontinued Align entirely and moved on to trying other probiotics instead. There was no ongoing use of this specific product.
