Summary
In this follow-up post, Encephalogirl (Michelle) lists an expanded regimen: low-dose naltrexone, low-dose Abilify, guanfacine, about nine months of tenofovir as part of a planned minimum one-year antiviral course, six weeks of low-dose rapamycin at 1mg once weekly, Nurtec for migraines, montelukast (Singulair), dextromethorphan 15mg two to three times daily, plus ubiquinol 400mg, NAC 1000mg, alpha lipoic acid 250-500mg and curcumin 1000mg daily, alongside vagus nerve stimulation via a Truvaga device, a Visible heart-rate pacing tool, and a Lumen metabolic tracker. She does not state how long she has been ill, only implying moderate-to-severe functional impact. The vagus nerve stimulator took three months before she noticed anything, six months for moderate improvement, and a full year to "really start to work its magic," improving GI symptoms, cognition and post-exertional malaise, while rapamycin is credited with adding further gains in activity tolerance. Dextromethorphan's cognitive benefit disappears when she stops taking it, and missing even a few days of vagus nerve stimulation brings her GI symptoms back, so she frames the whole regimen as ongoing maintenance -- attributing her progress to the combination of treatments rather than any single one.
