Summary
Mike Dessin was a healthy, athletic college student who developed ME/CFS after a severe flu in 1994 and worsened over 14 years, at his most severe isolated in a dark room unable to tolerate light, sound or touch and about 15% functional. An alternative practitioner using Klinghardt-method neural therapy and IV nutrient treatments, charging at least $500 a visit, helped him improve substantially. A 2015 follow-up, six years after his initial 80% recovery report, puts him at 85-90% of normal through pacing and occasional further treatment.
