Summary
Trialed loratadine 10mg twice daily plus famotidine 40mg once daily over a 34-day self-trial, more than four years into her illness; she initially dosed in the morning, then moved the famotidine to the evening after two weeks, which subjectively felt like a "massive difference." Her own tracked mood/symptom scores told a different story, though: averaging 3.08 at baseline, about 3.0 on the evening-dosed regimen, and 2.73, slightly worse, on the morning-dosed regimen. She weaned off the antihistamines after the trial, concluding they weren't sufficiently beneficial for her.
What they credit
Credits Antihistamines & MCAS, Diet, H1 antihistamines, H2 blockers (famotidine, cimetidine).
