Summary
Restarted valacyclovir at 1g three times daily after roughly a year spent bedridden 20-22 hours a day, following a 2009 viral onset, a 2011-2016 quasi-remission, and a hard relapse after a second viral infection in 2016. Just over a month in, reports "increased energy, no PEM, improved sleep regulation" and much less arm numbness and neck/back inflammation; by early August 2021 was doing "pretty intense" aerobic exercise - hiking over an hour, stationary bike, rowing, weightlifting, roller skating - "not crashing." Self-describes as "in partial remission" while "still dealing with symptoms," and had two days of PEM after a stress trigger in mid-August that was "not as severe as in the past," confirming the underlying illness persisted even as the overall picture stayed much improved.
Symptoms mentioned
