Summary
Trialed valacyclovir, ranitidine and cimetidine separately, each as single doses and then multi-day courses of up to 4-5 days, with at least a week's break between attempts. Each drug produced "near-complete resolution of fatigue, headache" within about an hour of dosing, but roughly 24 hours later brought on being "drowsy, somewhat weak, and with much reduced tolerance for exertion," with further doses only prolonging the worsened state. The pattern repeated across five separate trials over the three drugs; a later valacyclovir re-trial also produced mild thrombocytopenia with petechiae on the tongue.
