Summary
She attended a four-day intensive program at what was then called Frihamnsenteret, now the Clinic for Stress Medicine, near Bergen, covering stress-system education, group and individual therapy, mindfulness and physical activity, and continued mindfulness practice at home twice daily afterward. Before that she had also taken part in, then left early, the double-blind Rituximab trial (RituxME) at Haukeland hospital under researchers Fluge and Mella, without learning whether she had received the real drug or saline. She had been off work for almost two years, at her worst hospitalized and then housebound at her parents' home for nearly a year, unable to manage basic tasks like loading a dishwasher. She says she "didn't believe that therapy would do anything... but still ended up recovering fully," returning to 20 percent work within a week of the stress-medicine program and to full employment within six months. No relapse is mentioned; she says she kept up mindfulness practice at least twice daily and deliberately avoided online ME communities to keep moving forward.
