Summary
After 9 years of illness with significant fatigue and brain fog, an antibiotic protocol (drugs/doses not specified in this post) produced about 4 months of a severe Herxheimer-type reaction before it passed. In the following roughly 10 days he gained 5kg up to his ideal weight without eating more or exercising, regained a normal early sleep/wake rhythm with 8 hours' sleep, and put his energy at "50-70% (depending on the day)." He is hopeful but hedges heavily - "cross fingers," "I expect ups and downs," "we'll see" - since it is a short window of improvement after a long, severe reaction.
