Summary
Lotte attended a three-day Lightning Process course with practitioner Live Landmark, learning "basic neurology and about the functioning of the brain" and using the method several times a day, after eight years of ME/CFS requiring 12-18 hours of rest daily and bringing fever, sore throat, swollen glands and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Diagnosis took three years of worsening exhaustion before full sick leave was granted, following depression screening, blood work, a sleep clinic evaluation and neurological imaging at Oslo's neurological centre; earlier attempts at countless diets, cutting out sugar, low-dose naltrexone (LDN), homeopathy, alternative practitioners, cognitive therapy and pacing had all failed to help. She writes, "eight years of being sick is in the past. My son once again has a mother, my husband a wife, and I have a life!" No relapse is described, but she says she still turns to the LP method whenever she struggles, indicating ongoing maintenance.
