Equilbrant feels like helping me
- Condition
- ME/CFS
- At worst
- Severe (mostly bedbound)
- Ill for
- 22 years
- Published
- Dec 2014
Summary
Twenty-two years into illness and functioning at an estimated 30-40% of former capacity, started Equilibrant (oxymatrine) up to two capsules daily. Over the first ten days to a month reported better and longer sleep, dressing without pain medication, normalized bowels and less malaise. The improvement was not steady, though: it alternated with a severe flare ("hit like a ton of bricks") of nerve-distribution muscle twitching, malaise and weakness she attributed to a possible Herxheimer-type reaction, describing the overall pattern as fluctuating rather than a clean recovery while continuing the supplement regardless.
