Summary

Gentle, restorative yoga done at home from books, DVDs, and podcasts, starting with about 10 minutes daily of simple poses and building over two years to 25-30 minutes most mornings, sometimes repeated later in the day. She had completely crashed with ME/CFS in January 2011 and spent about six weeks largely horizontal and asleep before beginning this practice. Over the following two years she reports the practice has helped and continues to help her ME/CFS, leaving her head "clearer and lighter," improving her mood and calm, reducing lethargy, and gradually improving her stamina. Poses are kept seated, lying-down, or very slow, and adjusted daily to her symptom severity to avoid triggering post-exertional malaise. As of the 2013 post this is an ongoing daily practice rather than a completed treatment course, with no relapse mentioned.
