Summary
Case 11, a 33-year-old woman roughly three years into severe Long COVID/ME since March 2020, initially bedridden and dependent on caregivers and later "mostly housebound," had a 5-day Paxlovid course in May 2022 that brought significant improvement, ending her bedridden state and easing other symptoms. A further 5-day attempt in June 2022 and a 15-day attempt in February 2023, the latter on top of escitalopram, propranolol and low-dose naltrexone, both had to be stopped within 5 hours of the first dose due to severe stomach pain, so she never completed an extended course. The gains from the original 5-day course persisted, but she continues to experience the same Long COVID symptoms and significant functional limitations, with no extended treatment tolerated since.
