Summary
Started a heart-rate-monitored graded exercise and pacing program in 2008, beginning with two 5-minute walks every other day with 10-20 minute rest periods, alongside a sleep specialist referral that improved sleep from 2-4 hours to 5 hours nightly, a strict vegan diet from 2011 to 2013, and an ongoing yoga practice, for sudden-onset ME/CFS beginning in May 2006. Had been extremely severe, largely housebound with myoclonic seizures, speech difficulties and comatose crashes lasting 2-4 hours, at one point unable to walk 12 feet without a cane. By 2014, about eight years after falling ill, describes himself as very close to full recovery, crediting balance of mind, body and spirit and stressing that pacing is everything. Continued daily pacing and yoga as ongoing maintenance practices. Three commenters responded with admiration or reflections on illness but did not report their own treatment outcomes.
What they credit
Credits Graded exercise / graded activity, Meditation, yoga, breathwork, PDE5 inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil), Pacing and the energy envelope.
