Summary
Cort Johnson developed ME/CFS around 1980 and did a roughly 60-hour EST training in January 1982, after which he felt like "a rocket blasting off" and went on to work, finish his degree and feel states of freedom he had never had, though he remained unable to exercise vigorously and kept significant pain and fatigue. Thirty-eight years later, two intensive weekend Landmark Education courses in February 2020 left him calmer, more focused and less reactive, with his sleep-time heart rate staying below his normal resting rate far more often than before and his chronic anxiousness beginning to ease. He is explicit that the underlying illness only "lessened a bit" and is "still abundantly here," with nothing else in 40 years having moved the needle this much on his health.
