Summary

SOC's daughter took two years of combined antivirals, Valcyte (valganciclovir) and Valtrex (valacyclovir), prescribed by an ME/CFS specialist. Beforehand she had been declining, sitting around activity level 4-5; on the antivirals she rose to about level 8-9 and has not had a PEM episode in several years, now finishing graduate school in engineering, getting married, and traveling to Europe. She is described as not cured but living a fairly normal life, still relying on a large number of symptomatic treatments and taking antivirals more often than not to sustain these gains.
