RECOVER's 2nd Round of Long COVID Clinical Trials (SGB case 3)
- Condition
- Long COVID
- At worst
- Severe (mostly bedbound)
- Ill for
- 4 years
- Published
- Oct 2025
Summary
CPK has undergone stellate ganglion block (SGB) procedures six times over several years for long COVID with a "neuro LC" symptom profile, with further rounds planned roughly every 7 to 8 months. Starting from a baseline pain level of 7-8 out of 10, the first two rounds of SGB brought the pain down to 4-5, and a third round a year later brought it down further to 1-3. Each round's effect lasts only about 7 to 8 months before symptoms worsen again, so CPK needs ongoing repeat procedures rather than a one-time cure.
