Summary

Nimodipine, titrated from 45mg up to 90mg daily taken as 30mg three times a day, took her from 20-25% of well to 80-90% of well with mental clarity nearing 90%. She had been ill since 1991 and began the drug in 2006, holding the gain for more than seven years - walking six miles a day, running, dancing and driving at home and abroad. Five separate tapering attempts each produced progressive regression once she dropped below 45mg, so the improvement depends on continued dosing rather than being a cure. No significant adverse effects were reported beyond transient symptoms during each dose escalation.
